Montpellier, France (SportsNetwork.com) - Frenchman Adrian Mannarino was among Tuesday's first-round winners at the Open Sud de France tennis event.
Mannarino handled lucky loser and fellow Frenchman Vincent Millot 6-4, 6-4 on the indoor hardcourts at Arena Montpellier.
The left-handed Mannarino is rewarded with a second-round match against third- seeded Polish slugger Jerzy Janowicz.
Also on Day 2, Uzbekistan's Denis Istomin dismissed Turkish qualifier Marsel Ilhan 6-4, 7-5 and an all-French affair saw qualifier Marc Gicquel take out lefty Michael Llodra 6-4, 7-6 (7-4). Llodra captured this event in Lyon in 2006. The 2006 and 2007 runner-up Gicquel will battle second-seeded fellow Frenchman Gilles Simon in the round of 16.
This week's titlist will collect $105,000.
