HOLLAND, Mich. (WZZM) - Holland is hosting LaughFest for the first time ever this week.The City Flats Hotel is hosting the main eventfor Holland.

"We have been doing comedy at City Flats for a couple years now. We've done a few improve groups," says Sarah Lilly, Marketing Manager at City FlatsHotel.

But the hotel has never done LaughFest, until now.

"Alot of people don't realize we havea theater inside the hotel, which is perfect for comedy," says Lilly.

Every show at the City Flats Hotel is completely free. The comedy event includes local comedian Alex Ritzema.

"It is a little more nervewracking because family, friends, andmy boss are all going to be there to see my show," says Ritzema.

The Knickerbocker Theatre also hasa one night event, featuring ventriliquist, Taylor Mason, which is not free but expected to be quite funny.

"There's been moves toward comedyin Hollandand I think it's a great add, and there will be more to come," says Eric Alberg, Manager of the Knickerbocker Theatre.

"As the years continue, we'll be able to raise additional money with ticket sales," says Lilly.

The City Flats Hotel says each show will hold about 40 people in the audience.
