MORLEY, Mich. (WZZM) -- Two people are charged with selling heroin in the Morley area, according to investigators.
Tiffany Marie Bergstrom and Carl Leon Schmitt were arrested Tuesday on charges of delivery, possession with intent to deliver, and conspiracy to deliver heroin. The suspects appeared in Mecosta County District Court on Wednesday.
Members of the Central Michigan Enforcement Team (CMET) made the arrests in connection with an investigation into the increase of abuse of heroin in its four-county jurisdiction. Members of the team were assisted by Mecosta County Sheriff's deputies, and Michigan State Police troopers and an MSPpolice dog.
CMETis a multi-jurisdictional task force investigating drug crimes in Montcalm, Ionia, Newaygo and Mecosta counties.
