EAST LANSING, Mich. (Lansing State Journal) -- A professor in the Michigan State University Engineering Building was hospitalized Monday afternoon after police responded to calls about a man yelling in the hallway of the building.

Police were first called to the building shortly after 1 p.m. Monday, according to an MSU police news release.

The professor was taken into protective custody and transported to a local hospital.

Scanner traffic by law enforcement and messages on social media websites indicated the professor began screaming and swearing during his math class and eventually stripped naked in front of his students, before walking the halls until police arrived.

No injuries were reported and no charges are being brought against the professor.

Students in his class have been offered support from MSU's Counseling Center.
