GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- A Kalamazoo artist says he plans to sue the owner of the BOB for taking down his controversial ArtPrize entry before the competition even ended.

SinGh says he wasn't considering filing a lawsuit until he found his entry in the dumpster next to the BOB. The piece, called "Captivity", featured a replica of Saddam Hussein, hanging in a bird cage. SinGh also planned to featurea piecedepicting the rape of Oprah Winfrey.

The owner of the BOB, Greg Gilmore, says he removed the work because it pushed the boundaries too far.

SinGh visited the downtown Grand Rapids restaurant Thursday night to pick up his entry, which he says was in pieces.

"I really don't think what happened to me was fair. It wasn't expected. I thought we were in this together," said SinGh.

Gilmore says if he would have known what the exhibit would include, he would never have agreed to host it. However, SinGh says he laid it all out on his blog months ago.
