GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - The West Michigan Sports Commission says Grand Rapids has been passed over as a host site for the 2014 and 2015 "First Four", the four first-round games of the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament.

NCAA Championship Director Ron English visited Grand Rapids in September as part of the city's application. The tour included Van Andel Arena.

A West Michigan Sports Commission news release quoted Executive Committee member Peter Secchia, "At this point, we were given no specific reason for the decision." Secchia was also quoted, saying "We'll reevaluate our plans going forward with regards to hosting NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament games."

The NCAA has not announced what cities have been selected.
