COURTLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZZM) -- It may not feel like Christmas just yet, but at theHart Tree Farm in Courtland Township the holiday season is well underway.
Tom Hart says the family business was started by his father 63 years ago. Since then it has grown from ten acres to 175 acres.
"We have customers that have come out here for 40 years," says Hart. "Now their kids -- even grandkids -- are coming."
A large part of the business is for families who want to come out and cut their own trees. Hart also sells trees wholesale to vendors in the Grand Rapids area and elsewhere.
"We ship to Chicago, Indy, Missouri and a couple other states," he says.
Michigan is the third largest producer of Christmas trees in the United States.
