SPARTA, Mich. (WZZM) -- Employees of a now closed restaurant have received the back-pay they were due -- but not from the restaurant's owner.

WZZM 13 On Your Side first reported on Creveling's Restaurant in Sparta last February. Workers there told us they were not receiving paychecks. The business eventually closed in April.

One of the former employees contacted 13 On Your Side Tuesday, telling us that all the former employees who filed claims for back-pay had received their entitled wages. Yet instead of the owner paying the workers, the money came from a family member of the owner.

"That was disappointing," said Amelia Pylman, a former Creveling's employee. "I'd of much rather seen the individual responsible for this pay. I do appreciate the fact that his family cared enough to pay us."
