GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) Brian Kelly will lead the Notre Dame Fighting Irish into college football's national championship game January seventh in Miami against a to-be-determined opponent. Kelly has the Fighting Irish ranked number one in the BCS standings in just his third year at the school.He's been a winner everywhere he's been.

Kelly's record:

118-35-2 with two Division 2 national championships at Grand Valley State from 1991-2003.

19-16 with a MAC championship at Central Michigan from 2004-2006.

34-6 with two BCS bowls at Cincinnati from 2007-2009.

28-10 in three seasons at Notre Dame.

Kelly was introduced as Grand Valley State's head coach in March of 1991 after being promoted from the defensive coordinator position. WZZM 13 sports director Tom Clyde looks back on Kelly's meteoric rise through the coaching ranks.
