It is estimated that nearly 25 million Americans suffer with Type 2 Diabetes, which is the sixth leading cause of death by disease among adults in America. While the size of that number is scary, what's even scarier is the fact that there are an estimated 79 million American adults aged 20 years or older with pre-diabetes.

Type 2 Diabetes continues to increase at an alarming rate. The CDC predicts that without major changes in diet and lifestyle, one in three children born in 2000 could end up with diabetes. The question is why are we seeing such an increase in this disease? The answer is simple - over two-thirds of adult Americans and one in five children are overweight. The direct correlation between excess weight and blood sugar problems is well known. The problem is not type 2 diabetes. The problem is not dealing with the underlying factors that contribute to it.
