SCOTTVILLE, Mich. (Ludington Daily News)-- Scottville Mayor Joseph Baxter is scheduled to be arraigned on a charge of operating while intoxicated according to district court records at the Mason County Courthouse.

Mason County Prosecuting Attorney Paul Spaniola, who declined comment on the case, authorized the charge last week, the records state. Baxter had a blood alcohol content of .08 on Oct. 18 when he drove his 2011 Ford Ranger pickup into a ravine at the end of Second Street near Elm Street, according to a laboratory report from the Michigan State Police.
