GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- The man responsible for a deadly shooting during an armed robbery will spend the rest of his life in prison.
Circuit Court Judge Mark Trusock Thursday sentenced Charles Brown, 20, to life in prison without the possibility of parole on a felony murder conviction. Brown will also serve 40-80 years each on counts of armed robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robber, and two years on a felony firearm charge.
A jury last month found Brown guilty in the death of Daniel Bockheim.
Bockheim was shot during a January drug deal-turned-robbery in Kentwood. Police say a friend of Bockheim's was involved in the drug deal, but Bockheim was not.
Another man, Vernon Heath Jr., has already pleaded guilty to an armed robbery charge for working with Brown in the drug hold-up.
