GRANDVILLE, Mich. (WZZM)-West Michigan's malls were packed Saturday, as last minute shoppers tried to find those final Christmas gifts.

The JC Penney store at Rivertown Crossings Mall in Grandville was one popular place to be. The store's leader says Saturday was the second biggest shopping day of the year.

"My advice for shoppers today... would be [have] a little bit of patience; patience for parking, for customers and for crowds," said store leader Audrey McCaskey.

"It's overwhelming," said shopper Gera Watson, who was shopping during her winter break.

JC Penney will also be open Christmas Eve, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. The store's leader says Christmas Eve is a popular shopping day for one group in particular.

"There is a lot of gentlemen who come in on Christmas Eve, but we like to help them. They're somewhat easy to persuade and we like to show them all the fun things that we have," said McCaskey.

Some Macy's stores are also staying open until 6 p.m. Christmas Eve. Most Toys 'R' Us stores will also welcome holiday shoppers until 10 p.m. Christmas Eve.
