Lowell, MI (WZZM) - The holiday season is upon us and cabin fever might already be setting in for some.

The Land Conservancy of West Michigan has introduced the perfect excuse to stretch your legs.

The Holiday Hike Challenge is currently underway at 12 of the nature preserves that dot west Michigan's landscape.

Find the red bow tied to a tree in each preserve and take your picture next to it.

The first person to find and photograph all 12 bows wins a $100 gift certificate from Gilmore Collection Restaurants.

Jacqueline Bilello, Stewardship Coordinator for Land Conservancy of West Michigan said, "I think this is going to be a great way to get out and get some exercise, have some fun. You know, have fun with your family and so something besides sit around and watch football this holiday season. Right, hahaha! Should be a great opportunities to get out and see what's so special and unique about west Michigan."

You have until January 15th to document your visits to the red bows on the 12 preserves to be eligible for the prizes.

Hours are from dawn until dusk and all of the Land Conservancy Preserves are free and open to the public.
