(DETROIT FREE PRESS) - Almost immediately after Barack Obama won the presidency in 2008, it was speculated that he would tap then-Michigan governor Jennifer Granholm for a position in his cabinet.
It didn't happen. But the rumor mill is churning again now that President Obama is gearing for a second term.
According to reports from CNN and Politico, Granholm, who made headlines last September with a rousing speech at the Democratic National Convention, is in line to take a role in the Obama administration.
She's available. Granholm recently announced via her Facebook page that her present television gig will end in February because Current TV has been purchased Al-Jazeera. She also has done some teaching at the University of California-Berkley.
Could her next stop be Washington D.C.?
According to the reports, a spokeswoman for the former governor, declined to comment on the cabinet speculation.
