GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM)- Regular gas prices in Michigan could hit $4.25 a gallon this spring.
That's according to Gregg Laskoski, senior petroleum analyst at gasbuddy.com. Laskoski expects regular gas prices in Detroit to reach $3.95 a gallon to $4.25 a gallon in April. He says Grand Rapids will be "in the same ballpark."
Gas prices traditionally increase in spring, as refineries run maintenance tests before switching over to summer blend gas, which leads to a smaller supply of fuel. According to AAA, the price for a gallon of regular gas in Michigan hit a record high of $4.26 in May 2011.
