Discover the largest temporary tropical butterfly exhibit in the nation at Meijer Gardens during the 18th annual Butterflies Are Blooming exhibition. Follow the lifecycle of over 6,000 butterflies beginning as eggs until they emerge as butterflies. Once they emerge, they can be viewed flying freely within the five-story 15,000-square-foot Tropical Conservatory. They sip nectar from the flowering plants and feeding stations, gather among stream beds, and occasionally land on ecstatic viewers. Butterflies Are Blooming is Meijer Gardens' most attended annual exhibition.

Bay Pointe Inn Boathouse Auction

Bay Pointe Inn "One of Michigan's Top Resorts" is expanding having purchased the Historic Badger's Boathouse adjacent to the resort. The "BoatHouse" at Bay Pointe Inn will be renovated to meet the modern needs of travelers, weddings and corporate retreats. An auction of over 400 items will be conducted by local Kendall Tobias Auctioneering, held March 23rd at 9:30am. The auction will feature 200+ advertising pieces, antiques, appliances, furniture, household, commercial and architectural items. The expansion marks the third since 2008. The first two, the Lakefront Event Pavilion and Fireside Banquet Center have allowed the resort to host over 250 Weddings and hundreds of Corporate and Social Events over the last five years. "The BoatHouse will allow Bay Pointe Inn to meet the growing needs and demands of our guests while providing a destination retreat for weddings, corporate groups and family reunions," Michael Powers, Owner said. "We will preserve the history of the BoatHouse while bringing in modern conveniences and design elements from Mary Collins, owner of Custom Design Studios in Grand Rapids."
