GRAND HAVEN, Mich. (WZZM) -- The Ottawa County Road Commission will be reviewing the safety of a Grand Haven Township street following two crashes over the weekend.

On Saturday morning investigators say Spencer McGregor, 18, was killed after he rolled his car and hit a tree on Mercury Drive near Ammeraal Avenue. Sunday investigators believe a 43-year-old Grand Haven man was drinking when he hit a guardrail on Mercury Drive and went over the top, landing in a marsh.

Engineers say they will determine what steps to take after they look over the accident report.

"We'll get a report from the sheriff's department and based on that report, we'll determine where we need to go out and review the site for signing, road conditions, and to see if anything may have been a contributing factor to the accident," said Fred Keena of the Ottawa County Road Commission.

A construction project to widen the lanes on Mercury Drive was completed in 2007. Engineers with the road commission say they aren't aware of any other serious crashes on Mercury Drive since that project was completed.
