GRAND RAPIDS, (WZZM) -- Women in Ottawa County will no longer be able to get free breast cancer screenings because there's not enough money to fund a clinic.

Komen West Michigan held a special event Wednesday night called "Alive and Well." Area breast cancer survivors, including patients of Zeeland's "City on a Hill" health clinic shared their stories about the importance of providing low income women, who don't have insurance, with mammograms.

The clinic operated last year with the help of a $50,000 grant from Komen West Michigan. The plan was to offer the grant again this year, but Komen's funding ran out.
