GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- She helped win a gold medal for the United States at the London games and made it onto a cereal box. Monday, Olympic gymnast and Michigan native, Jordyn Wieber shared her experiences with students at Union High School.
Female student athletes from Westwood Middle School and Union High had the opportunity to learn about the importance of setting goals and hard work.
Wieber says she cherishes the chance to inspire young people and stay involved with the sport of gymnastics. "It means so much to me to be able to share my story and inspire them-- teach them how I overcame obstacles and challenges."
Wieber says she is looking forward to competing again and told the crowd that the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio are on her mind.
