The Allies for Greyhounds of West Michigan is hosting their annual Spring Fling this weekend. The group works to rescue retired racing greyhounds, and in their six years, the group has rescued over 600 dogs.
Allies for Greyhounds arranges meetings for adoption. There is an application process involved, but once you get through that, Allies will bring two to three dogs to your home to make sure you find the perfect fit.
Just over $200 will get you a furry friend, who will be up to date with its shots, three months worth of heart worm medication, and a leash and collar.
At the Spring Fling, you can find out more about adoption and greyhounds in general.
That's going on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 1637 3 Mile Road in Grand Rapids. There will be plenty of greyhounds on site as well.
