BALDWIN, Mich. (WZZM) -- Police are looking for a former Grand Valley State quarterback, believed to be missing in Lake County.

Cullen Finnerty went fishing and did not return Sunday night. Detectives say his family owns a cabin near Bray Creek State Forest Campground.

Police were able to find the small pontoon boat he was using to fish.

Finnerty left GVSU in 2006 as the NCAA's all-time winningest quarterback with a record of 51-4. The Brighton native won three national championships with the Lakers and was a finalist for the Harlon Hill trophy in 2006, awarded to the best player in Division II football.

Finnerty played briefly with the NFL's Baltimore Ravens following his college career.
