GRAND HAVEN, Mich. (WZZM) - Grand Haven's Fire Barn Gallery is opening a new show Thursday, June 20, featuring a hometown artist.
Tyler Loftis is originally from Grand Haven. He has spent the last 16 years in New York City studying painting. This will be his first timeas the main featurein a gallery show in the midwest.
Loftis says he does not want to compete with photography when it comes to painting a scene. Rather, he wants to convey how it feels to be in the space.
The show'sopening reception is Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The Fire Barn Gallery is located at 18 North Fifth Street in Grand Haven. The show runs through July 20.
