ADA, Mich. (WZZM) -- At Bethany Christian Services they say their goal is to make sure every child is living in a happy home.
To help reach that goal, hundreds of golfers, staff members and volunteers gathered at Egypt Valley Country Club in Ada on Monday for the 28th annual Bethany Open.
The money raised will provide food, shelter, counseling and family preservation programs to Bethany's many clients.
Leaders of the organization say the need for their services is growing, but state and federal funding is shrinking.
"More and more kids and families are in crisis and in need in our community," explained Bethany Vice President Brian DeVos. "But funding streams are tighter than they have been before. We are trying to raise some dollars to continue to make an impact in our community with kids and families. Bethany has a vision to have every child in our community and around the world in a loving family."
More than 300 golfers participated in the 2013 Bethany Open.
