GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - The Veterans Cemetery got some much needed attention Saturday morning as volunteers came out by the dozens.

Hands Across Time founder David Byers spearheaded the effort and recruited local Boy Scouts and other volunteers to spend the morning cleaning close to 3,000 headstones.

The group hopes to honor our fallen by finishing the job through many similar events in the future.
