UPDATE AT 3:05 A.M. (WZZM) -- Michigan State Police troopers say a missing Clare County man was found alive early Thursday morning.
Crews found Duane Duchamp around 12:30 a.m. in a wooded swampy area about half a mile from his home in Freeman Township. They say he was lying in the water, conscious but unable to walk. Emergency crews took him to a hospital in Clare for treatment for exposure.
FREEMAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZZM) -- Michigan State Police are searching for a man with dementia who walked away from his Clare County home.
The man, Duane Leon Duchamp, 81, was last seen in the Lake of the Pines subdivision in Freeman Township around 6 p.m. Wednesday.
Troopers say Duchamp was wearing jeans, a navy blue sweatshirt, and tennis shoes. He is clean-shaven and has gray hair.
