ALLEGAN CO., Mich. (WZZM) - The Allegan County Sheriff's Department is searching for a parolee who cut his electronic tether yesterday and led deputies on a high-speed chase.

Michael Loren Warner is on parole for Home Invasion and Larceny. Warner has made statements indicating that he may be a danger to himself.

Deputies say that an officer found Warner Wednesday in his 2004 VW Passat in Valley Township near 44th Street and Grant Drive around 5:00pm. Warner disobeyed commands from the officer and fled. The office tried to use his taser on Warner, but was unsuccessful.

Deputies pursued Warner through Allegan County into Van Buren County. Warner's vehicle was found abandoned in Van Buren County on CR 388 and a tracking dog did find Warner's cell phone. The search ended for Warner about 7:30pm.

Anyone with information should call the Allegan County Sheriff's Office at 269-673-0500, 911, or Silent Observer at 855-745-3680.
