PITTSBURGH (DETROIT FREE PRESS) -What happened:The Lions were stopped on an ill-advised fake field goal attempt early in the fourth quarter and the Steelers drove 97 yards in 16 plays on the ensuing series for the go-ahead touchdown. Ben Roethlisberger completed 29 of 45 passes on the day for 367 yards and four touchdowns as the Steelers won for the fourth time in sixgames, 37-27.

The buzz:The Lions were leading by four points when they lined up for what appeared to be an easy 28-yard field goal. But Sam Martin took the snap, ran through the line and fumbled as he was tossed to the ground short of the first down. Typically conservative, Jim Schwartz had never called a fake field goal in his first 73 games as Lions coach.

Simple amazing:Calvin Johnsonhad an amazing second quarter, catching five passes for 163 yards and two touchdowns in the period. But Johnson and the rest of the Lions offense went quiet in the second half. He finished with six catches for 179 yards - all in the first half - and the Lions scored all their points in the second quarter.

The buzz:While Johnson starred, Matthew Stafford and Reggie Bush had rough days. Stafford threw for 362 yards, but completed just 3 of 16 passes in the second half missed two touchdown throws early. Bush had 12 carries for 31 yards, lost a fumble and was benched late in favor of Theo Riddick

Up next:The Lions still have at least ashareof first place in the NFC North, and they have a must-win game against a bad Tampa Bay Buccaneers team on tap next week at Ford Field. Tampa won its second straight game on Sunday to go to 2-8 on the year, and has one of the game's best cornerbacks in Darrelle Revis.
