EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) - Chants of "We want tacos!" at Michigan State basketball games are now in vain.
For years, Taco Bell locations in and around East Lansing gave out a free taco to fans with a ticket stub from a game where the Spartans scored at least 70 points. That led to chants at the team's home court as Michigan State approached the 70-point threshold.
However, Taco Bell ended the promotion this year.
Michigan State associate athletic director Paul Schager says a sponsorship agreement with Taco Bell ran out and the fast food chain didn't renew. Schager said the promotion had been in place since 2004 and "was a fan-favorite and something very positive and very popular."
The Associated Press sent a message seeking comment Wednesday from Taco Bell.
