KENTWOOD, Mich. (WZZM)- West Michigan Aviation Academy is expanding to meet student demand.

Rockford Construction plans to add 15,000 square feet to the facility, which will allow the academy to serve up to 600 junior and senior students. The Phase 4 expansion will feature classrooms, laboratories, meeting areas and an airplane hangar.

West Michigan Aviation Academy was founded by Dick DeVos. The school has expanded two other times since opening in 2010. West Michigan Aviation Academy currently serves nearly 400 freshman, sophomores and juniors.
