BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (The Enquirer) -- One man died and three other people were injured in an overnight house fire in Battle Creek.
Battle Creek firefighters were called to 22 Summer St. near Capital Avenue Southwest at 11:30 p.m. Thursday.
Firefighters said the rear of both floors of the two-story single family home was on fire when they arrived. The house was extensively damaged.
Five people were inside the home and Battle Creek police said firefighters rescued two people from the porch roof, another inside the porch and one from inside the house.
One of the residents, Frank Mosher Jr., was found dead inside.
Firefighters said this morning that the home was owned by Frank and Rebecca Mosher and others living in the house were Kenny Mosher, Kathy Mosher and Frank Mosher Jr.
Firefighters said Rebecca, Frank and Kenny Mosher were all injured and Battle Creek police said they were taken to Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo for treatment.
Police said the fire appears to be accidental but the Battle Creek Fire Department is investigating.
The damage to the house and contents was estimated at $105,000.
