TEMPE, AZ (WZZM) - Michigan alumni and fans celebrated under clear skies and warm temperatures at the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl pre-game party.

A thousand Michigan alumni attended a pre-game tailgate party outside Sun Devil Stadium, but Alumni Association staff member Kirk Lutz tells WZZM 13 that they expected 10,000 Michigan fans to have traveled to Arizona for the game.

Many of those in attendance wearing maize and blue said they were Michigan fans living in Arizona. Those fans were the ones wearing sweatshirts and jackets. For Arizonans, game time was a cool 61 degrees. The Michiganders in attendance were the ones wearing t-shirts and, occasionally, shorts.

One group that we found was at the game, courtesy of the bowl sponsor, Buffalo Wild Wings. Dave Cygan said one of his friends won the trip in a contest that included the airline tickets, hotel rooms and tickets to the game.

The Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl may not have been the first choice of post-season games for the Wolverines, but everyone at the stadium appreciated the chance to see Michigan in action.
