ALLEGAN COUNTY. Mich. (WZZM) -- Northbound 196 is now reopened to traffic after North Shore Drive.
UPDATE 8:55 AM- Southbound 196 has now reopened at 71st Street.
UPDATE 8:00 am- Crews have cleared the initial jackknifed semi and reopened 196 Northbound at the 22 mile marker.
However, a second semi jackknifed, and possibly multiple other accidents, have forced the shut down of Northbound 196 at 109th Ave., which is exit 26.
Allegan County Dispatch warns drivers to avoid both northbound and southbound I-196 between South Haven and the Pullman exit because of multiple crashes.
ALLEGAN COUNTY, Mich (WZZM) -- Michigan State Police shut down part of Northbound I-196 early Wednesday morning while cleaning up an accident.
Allegan County dispatchers say around midnight a semi jack-knifed near the 22 mile marker. The driver was not hurt and no other vehicles were involved.
Dispatchers also say the accident was not in the roadway, but police shut down traffic so a tow truck could pull the semi out safely. The freeway has since re-opened.
