GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- A home invasion led to a brief standoff on Alpine Avenue Wednesday evening.

It started around 6 p.m. at home in the 800 block of Myrtle Street NW, where the homeowner invited three men inside to sell them electronics.

The men then pulled out their guns and robbed the homeowner. After the robbery, the men ran to a home in the 1300 block of Alpine Avenue. Once police located found the suspects fled, they ordered everyone out of the house.

Neighbors say crimes like this are becoming more common place. "I just got out of work out of a 12 hour shift at a factory and come home and see this," Marc Caverly told WZZM. "It's most certainly not the safest neighborhood. I am getting my son out of this neighborhood, that's why I'm working 12 hours at a factory!"

Police took four people into custody, but only one of the three robbers was among them. The other men were arrested on outstanding warrants.

Alpine was closed from Leonard Street to Myrtle Street; it reopened around 7 p.m.
