GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WZZM) -- A 23-year-old man is behind bars for robbing a gas station early Friday morning.
It happened around midnight at the Shell Station on Monroe Avenue between Ann and Dean Streets.
Police say a white man walked into the store with a mask and a butcher knife. He was able to make off with a small amount of cash.
Officers responding to the incident tracked his footprints to a home that police say was about a half mile away on the 100 block of Travis Street.
Inside the home police found evidence linking the man to the crime. He is in the Kent County Jail and is facing robbery charges.
