HAMLIN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZZM) -- We now know the name of the people involved in a crash that killed a woman and her infant daughter.

Investigators say Amanda Collins, 28, drove across the center line and crashed into a snow bank. An oncoming pick-up truck hit the car on the passenger side.

Collins and her 10-month-old daughter Lillian died in the crash.
Collins' seven-year-old-daughter, Madysen Church, was also in the car and is in critical condition.

The Ludington Daily News reported that Collins might have been looking at a pile of mail on her lap when the accident happened.

HAMLIN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZZM) -- A mother and her baby have died and the baby's sibling, age 5, is in critical condition after a two-vehicle accident near Ludington.

The accident happened around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday on Jebavy Drive near Fisher Road.

According to the Ludington Daily News, the three were in a car heading north on Jebavy when the car went across the roadway and into a snowbank. An oncoming pickup truck traveling south struck the car on the passenger side.

The child in critical condition was transported first via Life EMS to Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital, then via Aero-Med to Spectrum in Grand Rapids.

Identities are being withheld until next-of-kin is notified.
