GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM)- Family and friends of a missing Grand Rapids woman are boosting efforts to find her.
Maxine Green is the sister of legendary singer Al Green. She has been missing since late August.
Family and friends Monday are holding a fundraiser for reward moneyto help uncover the truth.
The 62-year-old woman was last seen at her apartment, Shephard's of Independence, on Morgan Street in Grand Rapids.
Later, security cameras at a Wyoming grocery store caught another woman using Green's stolen Bridge card. She even had the pin number.
That woman was arrested, but did not help turn any leads to help find Green.
WZZM 13 News istold the Reverend Al Green has not involved himself in the situation. However,other family members are devastated and desperate to find Maxine.
"I'm just asking the public, you know, for any help to bring her home. There's people out there who love her and miss her," Pam Green, Maxine's niece.
The "Soul Food Monday Fundraiser" will take place from11 a.m. until7 p.m. on February 10. It is being held at Ellenora's BBQ Kitchen located at 547 Eastern Avenue. The family is selling dinners for $7 each to raise money.
Police do not have any viable leads in this case right now.
As time goes on the Green family is starting to fear Maxine is dead, but they will not rest until they know what happened to her.
