GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WZZM) -- The cost of coffee is going up. Drought in Brazil and disease in Central America are pushing prices higher.

Coffee drinkers in West Michigan are already feeling the impact.

Kava House barista and supervisor Megan Roach says prices there have risen 15 cents on most coffee drinks.

"We are anticipating our suppliers raising prices slightly, hopefully not too much, over time -- but we are anticipating a little bit of a price increase."

Roach says baristas put signs up around the shop, explaining the increase. One of the factors is a fungus plaguing some coffee. Customers haven't complained a lot, according to Roach.

A customer named Jessica told WZZM 13 the increase doesn't mean she'll stop drinking coffee. "I'd pay more, depending on my budget."

Lucas, a Grand Valley customer, said he's "kind of got to roll with the punches. I think prices are going up for everything."
