WASHINGTON (USA TODAY) - President Obama will deliver a statement on Ukraine from the White House Friday morning. The statement is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Eastern time.
In his only remarks Thursday after learning of the Malaysian passenger jet crash over Ukraine, Obama said his first priority was to determine whether any Americans were among the 298 on board. Nearly 24 hours later, there are no confirmed U.S. citizens on the flight manifest.
Obama managed the crisis from Air Force One Thursday as he traveled to Wilmington, Del. for a transportation speech and New York City for two political events.
After returning to the White House late Thursday night, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest called for a "full, credible, and unimpeded international investigation as quickly as possible."
