(LANSING STATE JOURNAL) - A teenager who was shot inside a home by a suspect who fired from outside the residence is in critical but stable condition at a local hospital this morning.

Lansing police in a news release said the boy, 17, was one of five people inside a townhome in the 5800 block of S. Martin Luther King Blvd. at about 3:30 a.m. today. He was struck in the head. No one else was injured.

Police are searching for the suspect they say fired a single shot, and added the shooting was not a random act. No arrests have been made.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5'10" tall with a thin build, wearing a black t-shirt, light-blue jeans and a black shirt covering his face.
