SALEM TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZZM) -- Michigan State Police investigators say tips helped them find the driver accused in a hit-and-run crash with a school bus Friday afternoon.
A Hopkins Public School District bus was at a stop sign at 138th Ave. and 30th St. when a vehicle described as an older, white sedan -- possibly a Pontiac Bonneville -- rear-ended the bus, went around the bus on the right, and over the stop sign as it fled the scene.
There were eight students aboard the bus at the time of the accident. No injuries were reported.
Authorities say citizen tips helped them locate the vehicle at a Salem Township home. The driver was taken into custody for reckless driving and cited for failing to stop and identify at a property-damage crash.
