GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., Nov. 12. 2012 - Grand Rapids Catholic Central High School has named Elizabeth L. Banta to the position of director of advancement.

Banta brings a wealth of development and fundraising experience to the school, most recently serving as director of development for the Grand Rapids Public Museum. She also has held positions as development officer at DeVos Children's Hospital and director of alumni/parent relations at Aquinas College, among others.

Banta will oversee development and fundraising strategy at Catholic Central, including major gifts, special events and the Cougar Annual Fund.

"We are very fortunate to have someone of Beth's caliber in this position," said Greg Deja, principal of Catholic Central. "Our goal is to bring a new level of philanthropy to CC and Beth is just the person to guide that."

"The community is very special at CC," Banta said. "It is both humbling and exciting to be given the opportunity to work here, where the direct result of the donor's gift goes to the "lifting" of a child; spiritually, academically, morally and socially."
