WYOMING, Mich. (WZZM) -- The Wow Cup is said to be the amazing spill-free drink system. The plastic cup comes with a lid that has a soft silicone seal that allows kids to drink like a normal cup, yet it won't spill when dropped or turned upside down. It's supposed to be for kids of all ages; 12+ according to the packaging.
Megan Pocaro and her 5-year-old son Dane helped me test it out. At first, Dane couldn't figure out how to drink out of it. You DO actually have to suck on it, like a sippy cup, so it isn't just like a regular cup.
For the most part, it was spill proof. Dane turned it upside down and flipped it around, and there were no drips. But, when he knocked it off the counter to a wood floor, it did splatter. So, it's not completely spill proof. The packaging does say it's "virtually" spill proof, and it is better than a full cup tipping over.
Megan liked that Dane could screw the top on himself, and that there weren't a bunch of pieces to put together. It is dishwasher safe.
It was smaller than we thought it would be, it's 8 oz. You also shouldn't put juice in it because the pulp will clog it.
Megan said she wouldn't trust the Wow Cup on her carpet, but maybe the hard wood floor was too much for it, so we'll give it the benefit of the doubt. It'd be great for car rides or kids who keep water at their bedside table.
The Wow Cup sells for around $10. We haven't found it in stores yet, but a number of websites sell it online.
