WYOMING, Mich. (WZZM) -- Some Wyoming and Grandville residents lost power Thursday evening while utility crews made emergency repairs to a Consumers Energy substation.
The utility said 4,366 customers were affected while a crew worked on the Stonegate substation.
The outage affected an area bounded by Wilson, 44th Street, Burlingame, and Lee Street. The outage started soon after 7 o'clock, and by 7:45 service was restored for most people in the area.
Consumers says it typically sends post cards to let customers know about scheduled outages, but the need for these repairs developed too urgently to mail notices.
