Hundreds gather statewide to pray for border conflict.
GRAND RAPIDS, (WZZM) - Hundreds gathered around Michigan Sunday to pray for the children affected by the ongoing crisis at the U.S. southern border.
Parishioners of the Dominican Sisters Chapel prayed in unison for peace and resolution after Sunday service.
"Well the power of prayer is that there are groups united, we're bonding together on a particular issue and we're raising our voices to god, to one and other and beyond that to the world in where we stand," said Sister Lucianne Siers.
President Obama met with 3 Central American presidents last week to discuss border security. He wants 3.7 billion dollars to help deal with the immigration problem.
More than 57,000 children have illegally entered the U.S. since October.
