COMSTOCK PARK, Mich.— When the West Michigan Whitecaps return to the field April 8, WZZM 13 will be broadcasting the game live from the newly rebuilt Fifth Third Ballpark.

"We are very excited to provide this special broadcast for our community," said Janet Mason, president and general manager of WZZM 13. "The West Michigan Whitecaps are an integral part of West Michigan, and we want to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to be a part of the opening day celebrations as the team recovers from its devastating fire."

The Whitecaps are still rebuilding the dozen suites and concourse that were destroyed and damaged in the Jan. 3 fire. The team has promised the opening day game against the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers will go on as scheduled. WZZM 13's on-air staff will be there to greet baseball fans and participate in the festivities.

"Opening Day will have a special meaning this year. We look forward to a great partnership with WZZM 13 and thank them for bringing this game to a wider audience. This is just another example of their strong support and dedication to West Michigan," says Mickey Graham of the West Michigan Whitecaps.

Tickets to the 6:30 p.m. game are available on the Whitecaps' website or by calling the front office at (616) 784-4131.
