GRAND HAVEN, Mich. (WZZM) -- Police have identified a man whose body was found in the Grand River.
A dredging crew discovered the body around 9 a.m. Wednesday near Dewey Hill. Police say 54-year-old Mark Emerson Lamb drowned and there is no indication of foul play.
Lamb was homeless and frequented the Grand Haven and Spring Lake area recently, investigators said.
Detectives used items found with his body to re-trace his path over the Fourth of July weekend, which led to interviews with people who had recently seen him. Evidence placed Lamb in the Grand Haven/Spring Lake area on the afternoon of July 6.
Police say Lamb had stayed at an impromptu campsite near the Pottawattamie Bridge on Mercury Drive and they believe that's where he fell into the water and drowned.
