GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- Students hoping to earn a tech job in Silicon Valley should think of staying in Michigan instead. That's the message from Governor Snyder who spoke at an Auto Suppliers conference Thursday in Grand Rapids.
Snyder says Michigan's auto industry is poised for a great comeback, but needs industrial designers and auto mechanics to build the new lightweight cars of the future.
"When people talk about going to Silicon Valley and going to the high-tech industry, working on a vehicle is as high-tech as you get," said Gov. Snyder.
Snyder says a worldwide auto conference later this year will bring Michigan universities together to brainstorm better ways to market the state's auto industry.
