GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- Grand Rapids Police have made an arrest in a home invasion last week.
The incident happened at about 4 a.m. on July 25 in the 400 block of Prospect Ave. SE. The victim told police that she was awoken by an intruder, who she then confronted. The intruder assaulted the woman with a knife, causing a minor injury. Another resident yelled at the intruder while the victim fought back. The intruder fled and the victim called 911.
Police did not find the intruder, but were able to get a fingerprint at the scene that led them to a suspect.
Police arrested Curtis Lee Hopkins, 48, Monday on probable cause and a parole violation. The Kent County Prosecutor has issued charges of 1st degree home invasion and assault with intent to commit murder.
