GRANDVILLE, Mich. (WZMZ) -- The mayor of Grandville recognized two men Monday night, for having helped save someone's life.
Earlier this year, a car hit a moped in Grandville. The moped rider suffered a broken leg, and could have bled to death, if not for the quick action of Chris Bouwens and Ethan Wendall. They helped stabilize the victim until he could go to the hospital.
Bouwens is a trained paramedic. We talked to him about the special honors he received tonight.
"I kinda put my hand in the wound and applied as much pressure as I could. With all the years that I've worked the street, you had to just put your emotions aside and do what you are trained, and that's what I did."
Both men were recognized during Monday night's Grandville City Council meeting.
